MISSION

STEPS is a private not-for-profit, community-based organization providing a continuum of quality, comprehensive substance use treatment and education services to individuals; including those with co-occurring disorders, regardless of age, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or national origin. Prioritizing those who are indigent, pregnant, postpartum, have children and/or IV drug users in Brevard, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties.

We are committed to providing high quality, comprehensive treatment for individuals and their families in Central Florida.

PERSON CENTERED RECOVERY

STEPS provides quality person-centered behavioral health treatment services. In order to accomplish this,  STEPS utilizes the core values of a person-centered recovery system that include:

​

  • Acknowledging there are many pathways to recovery;

  • Welcoming entry at any time; regardless of prior treatment experiences;

  • Providing rapid response to persons who have relapsed;

  • Including a focus on intervention  as well as recovery management for individuals  and families, where appropriate;

  • are all-inclusive — everyone has the right to participate;

  • relies on global assessment rather than a problem focused approach;

  • respects individual choice; and

  • promotes a partnership with professionals and peer supporters;

  • values person-centered goals.
